"Upon finishing "Under the Sitka Tree" by T.L. Alton, I was left surprisingly emotional after closing the book. The entire story was a great era piece likened to small town life in Canada circa 1950's. The characters were relatable and engaging and the storyline, starting in the present and being told via a narrated story of the past by the lead character, for me drew parallels with the likes of stories such as "The Notebook". I found the innocence of the love refreshing and the author was able to carry me through a range of emotions via characters I sometimes found likeness with, as well as amusement, frustration, excitement, intrigue, empathy, and heartbreak. I feel the story would make a great movie adaptation showcasing Canadian roots. Thanks to T.L. Alton for taking me for a journey to the past and through a range of emotions that finished with a tear in my eye. Well done!"
